A constant build up of tension in the muscles from regular activity may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves. These muscle imbalances may develop and often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause the athlete discomfort or impede performance. It may therefore be reasonably claimed that one of the greatest benefits of sports massage is to help prevent injury.

Sports Massage is effective with:

»  Repetitive Strains (RSI)
»  Muscular Aches and Pains
»  Back Pain and Sciatica
»  Neck Pain and Headaches
»  Sports Injuries
»  Poor Posture
»  Improving Performance
»  Injury Rehabilitation

Sports massage when applied in a lighter way can be used for sport or exercise training as a pre training muscle relaxation tool or post training as a recovery intervention.

Your Treatment

As a skilled massage therapist Sean will be able to detect variations in the soft tissues and by using the correct techniques, help every person maintain a much healthier physical state.

Your initial session includes a full consultation including a medical history check alongside some relevant muscle and joint assessments. During your actual Sports Massage a range of techniques will be used which may include advanced stretching techniques (MET), Trigger Point techniques and Soft tissue release. In addition, some post care exercises and advice will be given following the treatment.

Remedial Massage

This Swedish style massage is more soothing and is ideal for people seeking relaxation. Massage is becoming increasingly popular due to the numerous benefits including reducing stress and anxiety, promoting feelings of well-being, general muscle tension or simply just to treat yourself.

A medical history and appropriate assessments are initially taken to ensure any massage is safe and effective.
